Fascinating facts & figures relating to the 2023 AGM season


Nimbus can look back on a successful General Meeting season in 2023. The service provider was able to carry out almost as many events as during the 2019 season. Moreover, the NIMBUS VotingSystem celebrated its 20th anniversary. In this brief review, read more on how Nimbus tackled its 2023 AGM season.


Nimbus is an expert in preparing and carrying out General Meetings. The company assists corporations, cooperatives or associations of all industries and sizes. More than 150 clients, including renowned SMI-listed companies, have entrusted the technology pioneer and service provider from the Glarnerland region with their AGM business.

In figures, a successful 2023 AGM means, for instance, 15,000 kilometers driven to the general meetings by car and the tireless commitment of 22 Nimbus employees. On 31 January 2023, the season’s start was given by the CKW Annual General Meeting. The first virtual AGM of a SIX Swiss Exchange listed company took place on 9 May 2023; and the highest-altitude General Meeting was conducted on Gornergrat at 3089 meters.

Preparing Assemblies

  • 925,000 invitations sent to shareholders
  • 78 companies’ mandates processed physically, i.e. 150,000 responses scanned from shareholders who registered for the 2023 AGM or voted
  • 79 companies’ mandates treated electronically, i.e. 90,000 instructions submitted via NIMBUS ShApp processed

Holding Assemblies

  • 66 Assemblies carried out physically throughout Switzerland with a total of 25,000 participants managed on site
  • 53 Assemblies with the use of the NIMBUS VotingSystem, i.e. 24,000 participants made their will known on site with Nimbus’ electronic voting system
  • 10 companies had a total of 500 participants who voted by hand
  • 3 companies held virtual Annual General Meetings with 500 participants in total, including the first internationally active Swiss company listed on the SIX Swiss Exchange

20 years of NIMBUS VotingSystem

  • 8000 NIMBUS Voting Units are available and ready for each AGM season. They are cleaned, reset and prepared for the next Meeting after every use
  • 500 missions completed in the last 20 years
  • 1.4.2003: 1st use at Roche’s AGM
  • 16.4.2003: use at Sulzer’s AGM
  • 12.5.2003: use at Swiss Re’s AGM
  • 23.5.2003: use at the Kudelski Group’s AGM
  • ....
  • More than 500 missions completed involving the use of the NIMBUS VotingSystem by the end of 2023, for clients including Autoneum, Bell, BVZ, CPH, CKW, EZL, Galenica, Julius Bär, MeierTobler, OC Oerlikon, Roche, Schindler, Sulzer, Swiss Re, etc.

Work done between seasons

After the AGM season is right before the AGM season. Nimbus’ software development team makes use of the weeks between the AGM seasons to further develop NIMBUS AR, NIMBUS GV, and NIMBUS ShApp. Nimbus software engineers are on site – and thus very close to the customers’ world – during AGMs, where they can glean ideas on how to further optimize the systems. One of Nimbus’ strengths is clearly that it responds personally to customer wishes and can quickly implement suggestions thanks to its own development team in Ziegelbrücke.
