New employees with software creator Nimbus AG

Working for Nimbus: this is why we applied, this is why we are here

Nimbus is a hidden champion in the areas of software development and services centered around share register management, as well as planning, organizing and conducting Annual General Meetings. The Glarnerland-based software creator engages bold technology pioneers, clever inventors, and enthusiastic service providers. We had a chat with Nimbus newcomers Sabrina Müggler and Gergö Dusza.

Sabrina and Gergö, you joined the Nimbus team quite recently. How did you find your employer?

Sabrina: I wanted to leave an international corporation. Things got less and less personal, while decision processes got longer and longer. I noticed Nimbus’ vacancy advert on a job platform… and sent in my application, even though I had practically no clue on share register management.

Gergö: I am studying at the Eastern Switzerland University of Applied Sciences and met CTO Daniel Stucki at the annual job fair organized by OST. There was immediate sympathy. I was explicitly looking for a smaller employer, so I left my contact information for Dani.

And then you stepped on the gas, Dani.

Daniel: Exactly! Many companies are fighting over IT professionals such as Gergö. I reacted quickly, setting a meeting with Gergö and providing him with an insight into our work, our technology, and our tools. I am very pleased this has worked out now. In addition to his studies, Gergö is working 60% part-time in our software development department.

How did things go on with you, Sabrina?

Sabrina: I was invited to a job interview… and that turned out very pleasant! After a long time spent working from home in my old job, I was eager to go back to the office. I felt I would be comfortable working at Nimbus. Also, I very much liked the idea of being able to establish and maintain direct contact with clients assigned to me as a customer advisor. Having to familiarize myself with share register management and General Assemblies did not scare me; I know I’m a fast learner.

Dani Stucki, Nimbus’ headquarters is located in Ziegelbrücke. However, you travel all around Switzerland during the AGM season?

Daniel: Yes, the AGM season has a very special appeal. Nimbus acts as a service provider for SMI companies – these belong to the 20 largest corporations in Switzerland – as well as for smaller listed companies, associations and municipalities. Each and every AGM is different, but they must all run perfectly smoothly. This is precisely what our teams are responsible for on location, both in terms of technology and organization. Sometimes a lot of tension can build up, but we have plenty of experience, along with reliable solutions that are proven or well tested. Our employees in customer consulting and in development generally enjoy the excitement of moving in business areas that are completely different and diverse. And it is a pleasure being able to contribute to the success of such an important event.

Gergö, working in the Glarnerland region sounds very pleasant. However, coming from the shores of Lake Zurich, you have quite a long commute?

Gergö: That’s true. But since I move anti-cyclically, I always have a seat and can start up or switch off ;-). Nimbus’ offices are very close to Ziegelbrücke station… and there’s always days when I can work from home. I rarely do, however, because I think working with the team is important. As a whole package, Nimbus is so interesting for me that I don’t let myself be put off by a little train ride. Also, connections to Ziegelbrücke are great.

Sabrina, Gergö, you have been with Nimbus for some time now. Your summary?

Sabrina: I very much appreciate the direct communication within my team and with my clients. Here I can get involved and make a difference. I feel very much at ease and in good hands. That’s important for me, because I did have a hard time leaving my former team.

Gergö: Nimbus gives me so many opportunities to dive into various technology subjects, and I can learn a lot. That’s really amazing! I value the appreciation I get for my work very highly. Everybody is easy-going and has accepted me quickly. I can ask for help anytime and am sure to receive it. I already feel very much at home here.

Sabrina, Gergö and Dani, thanks a lot for this lively conversation and your personal insights!
