Swiss-Ski: a fast-paced start to cooperation

Swiss-Ski chooses NIMBUS GV® along with NIMBUS ShApp®

Swiss-Ski evaluated several technology and service partners to organize and carry out its Delegate’s Meeting. Through an internal recommendation and a reference given by Raiffeisen Switzerland, Nimbus had the opportunity to participate in the tender – and won the bidding process.

It was time for a technology jump
At Swiss-Ski’s Delegate’s Meetings, votes were traditionally counted by hand. For the 2023 event, the Federation wanted this to change and therefore looked for a partner that was able to provide electronic voting devices while also helping to organize the DM. Nimbus was one of several possible technology partners.

Top-notch technology combined with personal care
During a visit with Nimbus in Ziegelbrücke, Swiss-Ski was given the opportunity to carry out live tests of the voting units and the NIMBUS ShApp communication platform and to meet the people in charge personally. Laurent Marx, Head of Clubs & Members, said: “Our very first impression was top-notch. Nimbus had prepared for our visit meticulously. The team welcomed us very warmly, answered our questions proficiently and took note of our needs.”

Along with Nimbus’ proficiency and commitment, the provider’s technology also proved convincing: “Intuitive and easy to operate, as well as successfully used by several of our partners”, commented Laurent Marx. In short, Nimbus was so thoroughly convincing that it was awarded the contract and Swiss-Ski decided to go for NIMBUS GV® and NIMBUS ShApp®.

Whether for a DM or an AGM, clients are always on the safe – and relaxed – side with Nimbus
Swiss-Ski and Nimbus jointly defined the timeline until the DM would take place in Arosa. While Swiss-Ski sent out the invitation via its own communication tool, a direct link provided participants with an access to the ShApp communication platform where they could register or decline to attend. The day before the DM, the Nimbus team arrived on site and installed the access systems, the voting technology including server, network, WLAN, VotingUnits, and voting direction. The entire system, as well as the interface with event engineering, underwent two complete and rigorous test series.

Laurent Marx emphasizes how relaxed he was because he could focus on his own duties and rely on his partnership with Nimbus: “Nimbus is everything you wish for. Preparations were done precisely according to our requests, with us having to provide a relatively small effort. Nimbus’ on-site team worked independently, radiated competence and aplomb; when things began to get serious, everything functioned 100 percent.”

For Swiss-Ski, an important requirement was for example that voting results could be projected within a maximum of 5 seconds. “I think it did not even take half that time”, says Laurent Marx laughingly.

Nimbus can keep the pace that a sports federation wants
Nimbus received unmitigated positive feedback from the President’s office and the Swiss-Ski organization team. Laurent Marx will therefore be happy to recommend Nimbus to others.
